Greetings, my friends. It's been a while since I wrote the previous introduction so I figured it was about time to update this section. During the last 5 years many things have changed and still many have remained the same. I had an appeal pretextually denied by the First Circuit Court of Appeals: the 3-judge panel ruled that I couldn't prove "actual innocence," a stringent, almost impossible legal hurdle. My meritorious, genuine conflict of interest claim wasn't even entertained by the panel...despite testimony from an officer of the court that supported my position! Either way, time keeps on ticking and the fight continues.
My wife, Natalie continues to be a beacon of hope. She does everything for me...and takes me on a wild ride in the process. She's my best friend, my Ace, and my true love!
I've taken a break from Ohio university's curriculum as FCI Fairton offers a unique college degree program that's too good to pass up: an affordable two-year business degree from Cumberland County College--complete with visiting professors. I'm in my second semester and maintaining an "A" average. I plan on continuing with my social science degree at Ohio University after I complete Cumberland's associate's degree program in business. This time off will give me an opportunity to raise the capital necessary to continue at Ohio University. Just to give you an idea, courses through Cumberland cost $30.00 per course while at Ohio the cost a whopping $600.00 per course.
I recently received word that the "Johnny Bart Defense Fund" shirts are completed and will be available shortly. Thanks to my brother, Billy for all his assistance, support, and genuine concern. It's been great seeing you lately, brother--I love ya. Thanks to my brother, Doc for hooking-up all the support gear. I appreciate it. Thanks, as always, to Boston for never forgetting--keep fighting!
To everybody who has stopped by and shown their support in so many different ways; I'm grateful and consider myself extremely fortunate that you are in my corner. The guestbook entries are so very encouraging and I look forward to reading them: they light a fire in my soul. The letters from new and old friends always strengthen my convictions and show me--even when it's so hard to see sometimes--that there are still genuine, caring people out there. To those who have sent a few extra bucks--thank you so much--it's very much appreciated. To all Hells Angels and those who support us...I'm never too far away and I'm connected to each and every one of you. Lastly, and certainly not least: thanks to my brother, Gibby. Without him none of this is possible. I appreciate all of your time and effort, brother--thank you.
I look forward to another year of positive developments, support, and ultimately, the road that leads to freedom. Stay well and stay in touch. Thank you and best of luck in 2009.
